In Genesis, God promised to bless Abraham, and Jesus was born from his descendants. God sent Jesus, who humbled Himself and came to earth. Jesus obeyed God's will and was nailed to the cross to fulfil this blessing. The blessing that God promised to Abraham refers to Jesus, one of his descendants. Jesus is the blessing that was promised to Abraham.
In Hebrews, it says, "When God made His promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, saying, 'I will surely bless you…'" When God called Abraham, to confirm the promised blessing, He sent Jesus to fulfil that promise. Jesus said, "I have come to do the will of God." He lived for us, died for us, and rose again for us. The fulfilment of God’s oath accomplished our redemption, enabling believers to receive eternal life.
Every word of God is true and will never return empty. Thank God for the love of our Heavenly Father. Even though the ox knows its master, the donkey its owner’s manger, we have not known Him or paid attention to His works. Yet He still gave us the grace of salvation and did not withhold His beloved Son, who came to save us from sin. Through Jesus’ obedience—even to death on a cross—salvation was accomplished. And now, all who believe in the Son of God have received this beautiful promise.
Thank You, Lord—the righteous for the unrighteous, the innocent for the sinful—who rose from the dead and now lives in us through the Holy Spirit, guiding us into all truth. Thank You for Your sacrifice, which restored our relationship with God and with others, bringing us into the fullness of Your blessings. For all the fullness of God’s nature dwells in Christ in bodily form, and in Him we have been made complete. Now, we no longer live for ourselves, but for the Lord who died and rose again. He must increase, and I must decrease—may His name be glorified. (郭牧师Pastor Guo)
