Israel’s greatest problem in the wilderness was not a lack of miracles. They saw the Red Sea part, manna fall from heaven, water come from the rock, and God’s presence in the pillar of cloud and fire. Yet God said, “Their hearts go astray, and they have not known My ways.”
Many seek God’s help, provision, and blessings, but never truly seek His heart. God’s works reveal His power; His ways reveal His character.
Israel followed Moses outwardly, but their hearts kept turning back to Egypt. They complained, doubted, and resisted God’s leading. Their wandering hearts kept them from entering His rest.
God’s rest is more than the Promised Land. It is the deep peace that comes from trusting Him completely. A restless heart is often a divided heart, still holding on to fear, control, comfort, or unbelief.
The warning of Psalm 95 still speaks today. Our greatest danger is not making mistakes, but allowing our hearts to drift from God. Those who know His ways can experience His peace even in the wilderness.
祷告Prayer
Holy Spirit, search my heart. Has it begun to wander? Am I seeking Your blessings more than Your heart? Do I know Your works, but fail to learn Your ways?
Lord, forgive me for complaining instead of trusting You, and for pursuing my own desires instead of Yours. Keep my heart surrendered, teach me Your ways, and lead me into the rest that comes from knowing You deeply. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
