These two verses are among the favourite promises treasured by many believers. Those who lay hold of this promise will be victorious in spiritual battle, for the Lord himself will rise up on their behalf. He will quickly subdue their enemies and turn his hand against their foes. If God is for us, who can stand against us? Those who receive this promise will press on in their spiritual walk with renewed strength and confidence.
The one condition for receiving this promise is this: “If my people would but listen to me, if Israel would follow my ways.” Only as we understand the light revealed throughout this psalm and faithfully walk in it can we share in this wonderful promise.
Lord, the unfolding of your word gives light. It reveals the true reason why my spiritual life has so often been hindered and why I have suffered repeated defeat. How willing you are to help me, to quickly subdue my enemies, and to turn your hand against the spiritual forces that oppress me. Twice in this chapter you call to your people: “If my people would but listen to me!” Lord, how earnest your heart is, longing to come to our help. Today my heart responds to you, saying, “Lord, I will. I am willing.”
May you be the strength of my daily life, my work, my ministry, my spiritual battles, and my walk of discipleship. Because my confidence is in you, may I sing for joy to God my Strength, lifting up songs of praise with tambourine, harp and lyre. (vv. 1–4)
(5-7节)Lord, help me continually remember your redeeming grace. Teach me to reflect on your mighty deeds and on the ways you have delivered me in the past. Help me to recognise your testing and your discipline, so that I may remain diligent and watchful. When trials come, may I recognise them as tests of faith from your hand, and by trusting you, overcome them. (vv. 5–7)
(9节)Lord, let your word, like a double-edged sword, penetrate my soul and spirit. Through daily meditation on Scripture and sincere confession of sin, expose and completely uproot every hidden foreign god within me—my love of money, my desire for the praise of others, and every form of sexual impurity or indulgence. As I fight the good fight of faith, grant me victory over the strongholds within, so that I will no longer live according to the old self or bow down again to foreign gods. (v. 9)
祢显那样的作为将百姓从为奴之地领出来(出埃及记6-12章),表明祢救自己的百姓有足够的决心,和大能; 我今天向祢大大张口,好叫我被祢的恩惠和能力充满!I will no longer focus on how difficult my sins seem to overcome, how broken my marriage may appear, or how impossible my circumstances feel. Instead, I will fix my eyes on your great salvation. You revealed your mighty power by bringing your people out of the land of slavery, showing that you are both fully determined and fully able to save those who belong to you. Today I open my mouth wide before you, that you may fill me with your grace and your power.
Lord, I long to walk in your ways, for your way is found in you. Help me continually to meditate on the example of the Lord Jesus—his footsteps, his attitude, and his humble heart. Teach me to lay aside my pride and to be willing to remain hidden from the praise of men. (vv. 13–14) As my life is brought into alignment with you, may your gracious appeal—“If my people would but listen to me”—become the wellspring of my victory.
